Isna joined Fadiga & Co Solicitors in July 2015 and is currently working as an accredited Level 2 Senior Immigration Caseworker.
She studied for her LLB at Brunel University on a thin sandwich placement course that allowed her to gain experience whilst studying. She spent 6 months working in a Criminal defence firm and six months in a law centre that specialised in Housing Law, Welfare Benefits advice, Immigration Law and Employment Law. She then went on to the College of Law to study for the Legal Practice Course during which she volunteered for the National Domestic Violence Centre and assisted the caseworkers in handling their caseload.
After completing her studies, she joined a private Immigration law firm and dealt with matters ranging from leave to remain applications, EEA applications and asylum cases. She undertook a significant amount of Judicial Review work and immigration appeals. She then joined a legal aid firm in 2013 and became an accredited caseworker under the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme in March 2014. Since then, she has gained experience in dealing with unaccompanied minors claiming asylum in the UK together with general immigration matters.
Isna is fluent in Urdu and Hindi and can understand basic Punjabi.
In her spare time, Isna is a successful henna artist and enjoys reading and travelling.
